About Fifty5degrees of Steamboat
Fifty5degrees of Steamboat was born out of a passion for acquiring fine wines and consuming them at their apogee.
In 1997 I began to enjoy fine wines and not long after that started to collect wines to consume at a later time. I soon realized that having a variety of wines available to drink to compliment the people I was with, celebrating a special occasion or meal was a lot of fun. Before long I was bitten by the bug and my collection has grown steadily since.
Faced with the dilemma of where to store all these wines I began investigating proper storage techniques and how long you should age a particular wine before you consume it. After 10 years my wine refrigerator and the crawl space at my home began reaching thier capacity and the idea of a wine storage facility not only to accommodate my needs but the needs of other wine collectors was born.
Acting quickly in early 2007 the plan started to gel and the facility began to be built that summer and has slowly taken shape as an ideal facility for the storage of wine. Time has been taken to build the ideal facility for the needs of our diverse community.
